for the wagon, crossing steep
mountains and rambling creeks. In the early days, under such
conditions, the journey from Staunton to Parkersburg took at least 3
days, if you were lucky.
Today, travelers on the turnpike have it much easier! Although the 225-mile journey can be driven in less than a day, you could spend a week or two exploring the many things to see and do along the way.
